Many of you know that I am a serious type "A" personality, a bit of a control freak, organized and a complete "planner" down to the very last detail. So, any "last minute" trip is totally out of character for me, but those are the ones that turn out to be the most fun because you don't have an "agenda" to stick to or any high expectations that if not met, ruin your trip.
My "boys" love baseball. Did I say love baseball? I mean they LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Baseball! My son eats, sleeps, drinks, breathes anything to do with baseball and hubby is not too far behind. Last year, during Zack's spring break, we did a "last minute" trip to the Braves Spring Training games down in Orlando. This year, we decided sort of at the "last minute" (about two weeks before his break) to do it again. We lucked out winning some great seats, 6th row behind home plate (on Ebay) to a couple of games this past weekend. Now, I'm not much of a baseball fan, okay, I'm not a baseball fan AT ALL, but there's plenty to do in Orlando!
Without boring you to death with lots of details, I'll just post lots of pictures! We went to Braves games, Sea World, Universal, Universal's CityWalk and Downtown Disney. We had a great time, a few little "set backs" that I'll give hubby the honor of writing about...but let me just say this, it involved a new baby whale, an innocent usher and an angry patron (in the form of my hubby) overheard as saying "put that baby whale somewhere else and get another whale out here to do the show!" Ahhh, yes.......never a dull moment!
All in all, we had a great time and managed to come back with no broken bones!
Still bored...but enjoyed watching all the scouts with their radar guns in the crowd. Not sure why they needed them when the scoreboard actually posted the speed of the pitch
He got TONS of autographs and there are TONS of pictures of him getting signatures from all kinds of ballplayers of which I know nothing about...but that's his most favorite part! He has acquired quite a collection over the past several years...
For all you long-time Braves fans, you'll remember Glen Hubbard who used to play for the Braves, but now coaches. Can you believe that a long time ago I worked for the Braves for almost 10 years and didn't care a thing about baseball?! I worked in the front office and got free tickets to all the games and rarely used them. It makes my hubby and son nuts when they think about it!

More players...more autographs, actually, this is John Schuerholz's son who plays on the minor league Braves team...
Gary being interviewed by someone from MLB.com (Major League Baseball) and he got a free t-shirt for doing it!
