Dirk and Kathy (Strunk) are returning home after burying Katie in Arkansas. (If you're new to this site, Katie was a friend of our son's and a former student at our school that was killed in the tornado that hit Enterprise High School---more info below). This picture is one of my favorites and is so typical of her...always a huge smile on her face!
A teacher shared with me that they were dreading coming back home today (Friday) because that would be when the reality sets in that Katie is not coming home. Please say an extra prayer today for them. The Holy Spirit will intercede when we don't know how or what to pray...just lift them up today and we will trust the Lord to meet their needs.
7 sweet friends had to say...:
Hi again. What horrible pictures of such damage I can't even imagine. I will pray for Katie's family - I'm sorry for your loss and the loss to all who knew her. What a beautiful young woman.
Just wanted to come by and say hi! I am swinging in a little late from the Blog Party because I have been out of town.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son's friend. What a terrible tragedy. She looked like a wonderful person who had a lot of life! How sad that it was cut short.
How tremendously sad to think of them coming back home, the funeral and burial behind them, and only life without Katie ahead of them. My heart just aches for them. Did you ever say if they have any other children?
they have a 6 year old son and a 3 year old daughter
OH! It breaks my heart for them and even though it is last and I am juts now reading this post, I WILL say a prayer for her and her family!
What a tragedy!
And what a hard thing for such young siblings to have to face and try to understand.
I know this is a hurt that will never fully heal for them. I will continue to uphold them in prayer.
How comforting it is to know that when we don't understand...we know the One who does. Blessings
Thanks for your encouragement! I will definately say a prayer for this family. She was such a beautiful girl. My heart continues to break for them.
