About Me

- The Lord has blessed us and we are so undeserving. We recently moved to Florida and feel like we are on an eternal vacation! We love our church, our family and friends, and are enjoying life on the nature coast. My husband is in the ministry and my son is a student at UCF. I am a fan of actions, not words. I despise racism. I think we should be the change we wish to see in others. My life verse is I Corinthians 15:58.

I've been dogged by my blogger buddies over my lack of interest in the Space program. I have to say, my interest in the space program does not go beyond "I Dream of Jeannie" ...that's right folks! Read it and weep for me. Now, I'll be the first to admit there's something quite appealing about a man in uniform, whether military, astronaut, fireman, etc., but that's where it ends. Space walks, space station, the NASA control center, going to the moon, orbiting the earth...although those are all wonderful and incredible things in the area of space exploration, yawn, yawn, it's just something that does not interest me. I've been to the Kennedy Space Center when Zack was little and it was fun and I would go again, I just am not interested enough to stay glued to the NASA channel 24-7. Now, give me TV Land and a marathon of "I Dream of Jeannie" and I'll sit there all day and watch Major Nelson, Roger Healy, Dr. Bellows, Jeannie and throw in an episode or two with Jeannie's evil sister! I love it!
So, one thing led to another at dinner (over the best spaghetti in the world if I may say so myself), and Gary and I started talking about our favorite tv shows from when we were growing up. Before I knew it we were both singing the theme to "Petticoat Junction" and cracking ourselves up. That led to Green Acres, the Patridge Family and so on.......
Tell me some of your favorites.....Oh, I gotta go!!! They're replaying the shuttle landing for the FIVE HUNDRETH TIME TODAY!!!

16 sweet friends had to say...:
you two NEED to get out more.
this coming from someone with a Power Ranger mask on?!
Mind you, sister, I have NOT been dogging you about this. I think my interest may be only slightly higher than yours, but not by much...so move over and let me join you in watching the reruns. As for my shows, as boring as this may be, I LOVED The Waltons! haha. But I also loved I Love Lucy, Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley. Did you have a limit on how many we can pick??? They just don't make shows like those anymore! WAH!
You're right, you didn't dog me sister! You bring the popcorn and I'll bring the soda and let's be bums and watch TV Land all day in our pajamas! Sound fun? If only you lived closer...wah! I used to love it when Squiggy would say, "Hello...Laverne" in that voice of his! And Happy Days, my favorites were when Leather Tuscadero would be on the show. I believe I've had that haircut before! Too funny!
I'll stick with my all-time favorite: Andy Griffith ~ a classic. It's okay, hon. I know everyone can't be a nerd like me. I know you love me anyway. BTW-your spaghetti is the best I've ever had.
I enjoy the wonder of space. However, I won't sit in front of NASA Tv all day. FoxNews, you bet. Gotta get my daily Bill Hemmer fix. Talk about HOT!!
Oh wait, that wasn't the discussion. Sorry. I'm all over Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Brady Bunch, and the Monkees. We did watch I Dream of Jeanne, too, and Bewitched.
two words.... LAVERNE & SHIRLEY....is there anything better? ok..two more words...MORK & MINDY. Now there is good TV. Nano, Nano....oh, the memories....like corners of my mind, misty water colored memories...of the way we were....
I forgot about Mork and Mindy. Now that was good TV. And Moonlighting. Bruce Willis and what's her name...the blonde. Great TV, until they tried to get 'em together. It wasn't the same after that.
That blonde would be Cybill Shepherd as Maddie Hayes, private eye . . . That was a good show.
Nano, Nano!
ok, allycat, I went to your blog to see if I knew you from Jonesboro, and couldn't get the pictures to come up! Welcome to our warped little blogging group!
HELLO....'warped'??? Speak for yourself! :-)
aw, come on Di-dan, that's why we get along so well...like Tommy says, "one nugget short of a happy meal!"
You are awful secure in our friendship, aren't you??? :-)
Glad y'all like that spaghetti!
I must say, it's a first for me to hear someone talking about the MENS outfits on I Dream of Jeannie. This coming from the wife of a Jeannie obsessed husband. (I kept meaning to buy that outfit....)
Favorite show?? I suppose that would be The Brady Bunch. I dreamed of one day having a maid. ha ha!
