Call off the dogs! I've been located! After receiving the "B Club Infraction Notice" this morning, I decided it was time to check in with my girls before the next knock at my door was either someone with the Department of Homeland Security, or Tonja with a pail of tar and the rest of the B Club girls with bags of feathers! Oh, it's so nice to be reminded how loved I am, even if it's in a 'kick your butt' sorta way! Seriously, thanks girls for being concerned and missing me!
It's more of the same around here, except with an elevated stress level that's off the charts! I'm still working hard at the school during the week, real estate has picked up on the weekends since I'm working with several clients, and I'm chin deep in financial aid forms, scholarship applications, essays, etc. not to mention the trip to Disney that I'm in charge of for our school's band that's coming up next month.
Almost every evening, I'm working on paperwork from the time we finish dinner until it's time to go to bed. I spend hours on the internet finding scholarships, pouring over information on the UCF web site trying to make sure I've completed items on their "to do" list; staying on Zack to make sure he's writing his essays in a timely manner; responding to about a dozen or so parent emails with tons of questions about the band trip; updating the band blog so I can cut down on my parent emails; and occasionally doing a load of laundry or two. Most of the time I'm so tired, I can't even begin to form two sentences to blog about.
And then the tornado that blew through here two weeks ago puts all my "stuff" into perspective. There were several families in our church that lost their entire homes along with a lengthy list of those that received major damage. Zack was supposed to go to work that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. which was right when the tornado hit the very same exit where he works. Just a mile or two down the road from his job, there was complete devastation. Needless to say, he didn't go to work since we were "hunkered down" under a tornado warning and the mayor had enforced an immediate curfew. Thankfully, there was no damage in our area. A few days later, we rode through the worst hit subdivision which is beyond any description I could give--the pictures don't even do it justice, but I'm posting one that sums up what's important...
I'll leave you on a much happier note---our school's Drama department performed "The Scarlet Pimpernel" 4 nights last week/weekend. Zack played "Coupeau" and even sang a solo! Hello! I was so impressed and proud! I didn't know he had it in 'em! It was great! After seeing it every time (we had to be there to open the coffee shop during intermission), I am so crazy about the music! I had never heard it before, and being the literary ding-a-ling that I am, had never heard the story before either. That's Zack, the skinnier soldier...

Guess I've been living under a rock. A big, heavy paperwork rock. Now I know why paper always beats out rock in "rock--paper--scissors".
Oh, the weight...gotta go try to dig out.
8 sweet friends had to say...:
Glad to know that you're alive and kicking! You've been missed. I sure don't envy you - all the paperwork and stuff you have going on right now.
Those tornadoes were terrible. I'm happy to hear that Zack (and you) didn't get caught in any major problems. That picture says it all.
Try to take a break from all the papers and post when you get a chance!
Hi, Tracey, I had just stopped by your blog this week & wondered what you were up to, then got Tonja's notice. How cute was that?! So, you are missed & loved, you just needed a reminder. Glad to hear you are well & just busy. Hope it eases up soon.
Hugs,
Rhoda
OFFICIAL "B" BLUB MEMO:
We are very happy that our missing 'sister' has finally come to her senses and clued us all in on her recent series of hardships. We feel your pain, Tracy. But we could have been feeling it and offering up prayers on your behalf...if we had known how rough it has been for you lately. We all are some mighty powerful praying grls, ya know?
So sorry you had to get an OFFICIAL NOTICE...but just remember this...we love you and miss you and care about what is going on. The "B's" are going to get right on your woes and start talking to the Lord in your behalf. If we can help do anything...let us know. I'll be sure to tell Kat and Sandi to put away the feathers...you can relax, now.
Please take care of yourself and rest a little bit.
Blessings,
Tonja
Sooooo....you respond well to threats! LOL I wondered if we needed to pack up and come there....maybe we still do to uncover you from all that paperwork. Bless you sweet friend, you do have alot on your plate right now. We just wanted you to know how much we miss you. Try to send us a note or write a quick post when you can. We care!
Much love and hugs,
Kat
You're such a good sport! That stress reduction thing is hilarious!
Bless you, bless you, bless you, my dear, under all that paper. I so remember the financial aid and scholarship applications. I didn't have real estate papers on top of it though. But I was teaching, and we did have all those guys in their various sports and activities. I look back on those years wondering how in the world I got it all done and how I stayed sane. I'm living proof that it's possible and there is life after the high school years!
Thanks so much for taking your precious time to post. We really do love you and care, and we missed you.
I don't know how in the world you do all you do. I'm tired just reading your post!
Hang in there girlfriend...Good to hear from you!
Lisa
Glad you are back...thrilled you and your family were spared any immediate devastation...and know I am keeping your friends and neighbors in my prayers.
I also, think you need a break girl...maybe Zack can fill out some of that stuff...and hopefully you can find a couple of folks to delegate some things to on the Band side...glad for you Real Estate is picking up...but I'm sure you could use your weekends to rest, too!
Thinking of you...Blessings...your way...
Teresa
Glad to know that you are good.
Been missing you!
IN HIM -
