You Might Be a Redneck...

This afternoon we decided to go to Birmingham to do some shopping. Birmingham is only a little over an hour from us, so we usually will go there if we want to do any major shopping other than the Parisian and Dillard's we have here in Montgomery.

It was getting to be about 4:30 p.m. and we hadn't eaten since breakfast, so we decided to head over to The Summit to eat at one of our favorites, The Cheesecake Factory. We enjoyed a nice dinner on the patio and ate WAY! TOO! MUCH! FOOD! It was so yummy and the portions there are so H-U-G-E that we were not about to let all that food (about half our plates) go to waste. The waitress brought us some "to go" boxes and a nice little Cheesecake Factory shopping bag and we were on our way.

Now the dilemma...we have all this wonderful food (mine was a huge salad, Gary had pork tenderloin and Zack had buffalo wings) and we still had some shopping to do. We certainly couldn't leave it in the car.

So, being the clever little genius that I am (and humble too! ha!), I said to Gary, "hey! Let's run to a convenience store, get one of those styrofoam coolers and a bag of ice and pack up our food." Okay, sounds like a plan.

A few minutes later, I see my hubby (the reverend) coming out of the convenience store with this styrofoam cooler...

It was all they had. The look on his face was priceless.

You might be a redneck if you pack up your "to go" food in a styrofoam Coors Light cooler.

Maybe we'll leave it in his trunk for future use---just in case!

Do you know how to tell a Methodist from a Baptist in the liquor store? The Methodist will speak to you! :))

Yep! he might be a redneck!!..and, I ate at that very cheesecake factory just last week! The Summit is one of my FAVORITE places to go shopping!! When I worked at VZW I had meetings on 280 all the time, so naturally, I had to stop in on the way home! The Summit is my second favorite only to Opry Mills in Nashville!

tI can not go to B'ham without going to the Summit and The Cheesecake Factory. Boy, do they ever serve BIG portions. I have started getting one of their salads....and a piece of cheesecake. I'm not sure I save that many calories, BUT...I feel better about myself. I love to shop at JJill and Anthropologie there among others. Love the cooler!

I love The Summit too...both the shopping and the eateries. Our favorite is P. F. Changs. Yum Yum!
But I like the Cheesecake Factory too...it's just too much food.

Smart girl...getting a cooler and ice! Even a Coors Light cooler.

I love the Cheesecake Factory. I don't know if we have any up here, but Jeremy took us to one in Tampa the other summer.

I love the cooler story too. And the preacher's wife's joke. Too funny. Reminds me of the time a bunch of us teachers went to some kind of a party where we bought a mix for beer bread. The youngest teacher had just gotten married and they were given a bunch of beer for a wedding gift from her hubby's friend, which they never drank because they didn't like beer. So she said she would bring us each a beer to make our beer bread. It was so funny the day she brought it, all wrapped in brown bags. I put it in my briefcase. All the way home I was so afraid I'd be in an accident and they would discover that I keep beer in my school brief case. Talk about an alcoholic!!

Lisa, that is too funny!

Jean--that cracked me up... worrying about getting in an accident and someone discovering the beer in your briefcase!

I have to laugh at the joke that the preachers wife wrote up there.........funny - she is.....(being Methodist I am required to say something =))
My first thought though was this - just think of the rumors that could be started with that one -- the PREACHER had his beer cooler with him running around B'ham! =)
And The Cheesecake Factory is the best - I've never been to the one in Birmingham but the one in Atlanta is awesome!
This is too funny.........

I love that, Tracey! Wish I could have seen it...hold on to it, you never know when you might need another styrofoam cooler, esp. a beer one. I had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (Summit) for my birthday last Dec.

If you get to B'ham again without the whole family, let me know & we'll meet up sometime! I'd love that!
