Another "trip"...

In light of the recent "trip" I took this week in the form of a fall, I decided to take another "trip" down memory lane. I've had several people ask and email me about my Dad---especially the new friends I've made in the past couple of months. So here are some posts about my Dad.

This post is one I wrote when he really started to decline. It's called "Man in the Mirror" and my Dad's mission called my mom about publishing it in their quarterly magazine (unfortunately they ran out of room on their obituary page).

This post has photos of me and my Dad from my wedding.

This is one of my favorite photos of me and my Dad when I was a baby.

This post is when he asked me if he was dying (this was just two weeks before he died).

These posts are from his death and the two weeks that followed. If you start at the bottom of the page, it will be in order. Some of these posts are very "raw" in word and thought, but it was what I was experiencing at the time.

Maybe that will catch some of ya'll up on this extraordinary man that was my father.

10 sweet friends had to say...:

Dear dear Tracey, what ever can I say after reading all that? I knew your dad died sometime before I got to know you as one of Beachkat's "lurkers", but I had no idea it was just so recently before that. I am so deeply touched. I wish I had found you before that so I could have grieved with you and prayed for you over that painful time. However, I know there's still a lot of pain, and I will pray for the healing oil of the Holy Spirit to be poured right into your wounded soul.

Tracey, I've read these before. So sweet.

My father left our family when I was 13 and I didn't see him again until I was 20. We had a long distance relationship until his death when I was 25.

I envy your relationship with your Dad. I know you miss him.

Tracey, thank you for sharing those with us. I can tell from reading them how hard loosing your father was on you. I can't even imagine. I know you will always miss him.

oh honey! These were some of the most heart wrenching stories I've ever read! I've used almost an entire box of Kleenex. Having just gone through a scare with my dad, I think I was extra sensitive while reading about your heart felt feelings. What a special man he was! Your memories of playing with his class ring, or him turning you upside down when you were choking, were all so beautiful!

Was Olive Garden really his favorite place to eat? My hubby manages one here in Tampa Palms! I found that to be kind of neat when I read it.

God bless you now and may he comfort you always!

WOW, Tracey.
This is just so sweet. Your father seems wonderful and what a sweet reminder not to take for granted the time we have with those we love.
Thanks for that!
Mindy

I wish it wasn't already almost midnight. I wish I wasn't falling asleep in my chair. I wish I had the time and energy to go back right this minute and read all about your dad. I, of course, found you after all of that, so would love to know the story. I will read it, the whole thing, very soon.

For now, I just wanted you to know that although I haven't been leaving you comments lately, I've been here checking in on you. It's crazy-busy here in the asylum lately, so I've been sneaking in here and there without taking the time to "chat"...

Just wanted you to know I'm still hanging out over here whenever I can!
