I'm certain I've reached my "Bubba" quota!

Today we traveled to Gary's hometown of Thomaston, Georgia. His sister and her family still live there and today was his niece's wedding. This morning I was a little worried about the overcast weather, but it turned out to be a beautiful day. What a gorgeous setting---the ceremony was right by the lake and the reception was under a pavilion just a few feet away. Now, Thomaston is a small town with alot of country "folk", but good people. Ones that would do anything for you---but you have your share of rednecks too. I can't tell you how many men would turn and look if they heard anyone say "hey Bubba"! It made me chuckle. At one point, Zack leaned over to me and said, "hey mom, where is 'over yonder'?"

I won't bore you with tons of pictures, but I think the last one sums it up quite well...

This is my hubby with his younger sister

During the ceremony...check out the two precious flower girls! They are the groom's from a previous marriage, but love their new step mom like she was their very own mama!
Ahhhh, young love...
For some reason I just love this picture of hubby. He was watching for the seating of the mothers to begin playing.
I thought this was precious of the girls twirling and skipping--this was my favorite photo of the day!

Check out this fella's handy beverage holder! I'm pretty certain someone in his family calls him "Bubba"

8 sweet friends had to say...:

Okay, this morning you had me in tears and tonight you have me laughing out loud. I had to search for a while to find "Bubba's" beverage holder, and when I did it just cracked me up. You're so funny!

I wish I could hear that cello music. I'm sure it would make me slide right off my chair. It's definitely one of my favorite instruments.

Hey, ya gotta have both hands free for all the food!!

Lovely pictures. What a pretty setting for a wedding. Sure beats the courthouse where Dom and I got married!

Beautiful photos. I especially like the one with the children dancing around. A priceless moment in time. Yeah, I've known a few Bubbas in my time. And you know what? They all fit that name perfectly!

I bet that was a beautiful wedding--I love weddings--the young love just fills the air and reminds me of when I was a teenager. The little ones are just precious-you should enter some of those photos into a photo contest! And-I know all about those beverage holders-they have those down here in Texas too! Thomaston sounds like home to me! :)

Beautiful wedding, Tracey. I'm sure there were a few Bubbas hanging around. I see you love Rick & Bubba too...those guys are great & one of the best things about living in B'ham. I didn't discover them til I moved over here. I was taken by them immediately & could listen to them forever. Hope they stay around!

I had to look for the beverage holder too...too funny. Unfortunately, I've done sort of the same when I was outside, but can say I've NEVER done it at a wedding or anywhere I'd be seen!
